Hi

I frequent one of forums on your site (whitedotboard),
and we are having a huge Spam problem.

Is the anti-spam mod still active?

Cuz, everyday new spam (with links!) are being posted.

Is there something our forum admin can do, or do we
just need to wait for an upgrade?

Thanks!

Terry

P.S. as a test, I just tried to post a websit link
as part of the message, but I got an error message
"Error in posting: You are not allowed to post any
websites here at the moment." So this anti-spam mod
works here, but not in the forum that I frequent.

The mod still should be working. It only works for the first few (5 I think) posts. I looked at the board in question and saw a lot of spam members, but all had 0 posts. Can you pm me a link to one of the spam posts, so I can see what you are talking about?

Hi Admin

Thanks for getting back to me on this.

It could be that at the time you checked out our
forum Jean, the admin, had already manually deleted
the spam posts.

Anyway, if you go over to the mfbbnet/whitedotboard
forum, and then click on "Turning Off TV", you'll see a couple of the spam posts, one called "Subject1" and another called "sobrernarpise".

Oh, and I'll leave a message with Jean to please leave the Spam for a day or two so you can see for yourself.

Terry

P.S. Hope you have time to stay and check out our
excellent forum!

Terry

If you see they have "Guest" under their name. Your admin needs to disable guest posting in that forum.

Hi Admin

Would it be possible to allow Guest posting,
but not not posting with links?

That is unless the poster is registered and
has already posted one or two comments previously.

Thanks,

Terry
