The Stats Counter code has been there for ages. Didn't touch it for a long, long time. As I said earlier, I deleted 2 gifs from The Man forum and clicked update. The error message appeared on that forum and the forum below it disappeared.
Well, I think since you have tried editing the description box yesterday, you already know firsthand what happens when you do that. All my forums under "Categories" are now gone except for The Man!
And what has happened to the forums under "Miscellaneous"? The Interesting Stuff forum is gone and Music Player and Related Links forums are now found under "Categories" You realise what you have done, don't you??? I hate to say this, but you have made matters worse! You made a backup before you meddled with my board, I hope. (Saying a prayer here...) I did warn you that the boxes can't be touched for fear of losing more forums. Now see what has happened when you edit them???
Since the damage doesn't seem to be repairable (things get worse whenever we touch the description box - I don't have to explain more), what solutions are we left with?
1. Can you please revert the board to 1st January 2008? Please say something about this, please... because I don't want to sound like a broken record. It may be extra work, but looking at what has happened yesterday, I do think it's fair enough to go the extra mile for me.
2. Or at least revert the board to the condition it was before you tried your hand in fixing it. I do understand that you were trying to help but one look at the board tells you that it's far, far worse than before. Look at the enclosed screenshot if you are not aware! Please don't tell me you didn't backup before you went in to try and solve the problem.
URGENT!

Pretty obvious that the present board is beyond repair.
Please don't repair it anymore (for fear of losing all the data) apart from restoring a backup.
The only way out of this mess is to restore the previous backup. Kindly restore. I trust Mr Admin would treat this case as urgent. |

Sir, the description box is for descriptions of forums. Not javascript, embedded videos etc. I assure you the issues are with this. You database is not corrupt and the files are shared with all forums, you are the only one having issues with this. If you choose not to believe me that is your choice.

I have no wish to argue with you on how a description box can be used apart from just entering plain text. You can also choose not to believe me when I tell you that it has been used this way by many others for a long time. These ideas certainly didn't originate from me.
Anyway, the point now is whether you did a backup before you tried to fix? If so, can you restore because 3 corrupted segments are better than 11 of them.
And can you revert to 1st January 08? Or is it that a payment has to be made for the backup before you would do the job? Do let me know whatever it may be.

There is no data missing! The html is not displaying the page correctly because of the information in at least one of your description boxes. I realize others do this, but what you don't understand that is if something from another website included in this box that does not load properly it will prevent your forum page from loading correctly.
I am certain this is your issue. So certain that I will give you a free backup to take to another provider if I am wrong.
To get your free backup remove the description from each and every forum. If it still does not display correctly I will send you a backup. Otherwise I cannot help you further.

Well, how to clear the description box of The Man when it can't be called up anymore? Click edit and what shows up is the box for the next forum, not that for The Man. Touch that and the next forum is gone. That's how all the subsequent sectors below The Man disappeared. You have already tried it yourself the other day and already know the effects. If the box for The Man could show up properly after the error message appeared, the issue may have been resolved from Day 1 since I would have edited whatever was in it.
Since there's not much we can do other than restoring a good backup, I suppose I'll have to leave it at that. |

I was able to edit the man the following way. In forum admin right click on edit open in a new window. In the url you see editforum&f=13. Since the man has an id of 6 I changed it to editforum&f=6 and hit enter.
I removed the stuff in the description box and hit enter. The man is showing correctly now. If there are any further issues, follow the same procedure. Although you will probably not listen to me, you probably shouldn't put all that crap in the description box.

Promise I'll be extra careful with the contents of the description box. Probably when deleting the gifs, I accidentally deleted an extra letter of the next code.  |
