hi peeps,
have been getting a sado sign up to my forum nearly everyday and doing nothing, not even making a post.
each time i delete his account he signs up again.
now whats the prob your asking? well the foum is used for clan members of Counterstrike source clan only!
just simply dont want this stranger signed up in our forums
anyway i can prevent this guy to sign up at all
as he dont post anything i cant get ip addy, all i can do is block his fake looking emails ...is there anyway you guys can send me the log file? will it show ip addys of signups?
or list email addys they have used?

| Well you can find out his ip without him posting. If you own a phpBB board in your admin panel home page you have a "Who is online" section, which shows you the ips of everyone online (including guests). Just look there the next time he is online. |

er yea thats just it ...think he is maybe from germany and always find new sign up has been done during silly hours of the day ...lol all i want is for him to make one post , but he never does  |

no i'm the only admin and its for a UK clan
just wondered if there are logs kept of who visits the forum and who signs up with ips embedded?
thanks for your help though dude
guess i will have to keep deleting for now, rofl been every day for 2 weeks already lol |

How do you know it is the same person using those fake emails?
If the emails are the same, would preventing duplicate emails lock him out if using the same email again and again?
ACP> System Settings> then look for this:
Security (Troublesome Users)
Allow duplicate emails when user registers? (select NO)
Will not check for existing email address
The other idea would be to change the next choice below that to have new registrations approved by admin. If you never approve his he would never see the board. This is assuming you have your board set up to be logged into in order to view/read.

| yea already one step ahead of ya, looked like in the past they used real email to actiate then edited there profile to fake email, however last 2 day i have set to so i have to activate, the fool still signing up though lol |
