|

|
... or know --
1. Can we put meta tags anywhere -- search keywords that will direct traffic? I've asked it before but no answer -- is this possible??
2. I have seen other phpbb boards that employ the use of the [strike] strikeout [/strike] bbc code. Can we have this? Why doesn't it work on here?
Thanks again for all you do. |

1) It is not possible because the templates are not editable.
2) This is a mod, I do not install mods because it would effect all forums hosted here, it makes it very hard to upgrade when new releases come out, and they are sometimes insecure and hard on server resources. _________________ Please use the search function. |

| So without allowing meta tags how could we get more trsffic to our boards or have them shop up in search engines? I entered my link at google but have not seen any results. |

Meta tags do count, but not very much anymore. Incoming reliant links and content are the two most important factors. _________________ Please use the search function. |

Where would the meta tags be added? I recall reading on a meta tag generator site to add them after/before HEAD and BODY etc. I don't see where that can be accessed thru the admin control panel.
Also, on a related topic...on my old site I would see googlebot quite often. I NEVER see that on my current board. Is there a reason for that?
Also, is there a reason why when we enter the following URL for our site in Google, nothing comes up?
http://www.mfipb.com/index.php?mforum=boardnamehere
Could all of this have to do with the not-so-long ago change in our "base" URLs to the current mfbb URL? Is there anything you, admin, can do that allows our boards any more exposure? I recall before (long ago) you had mentioned something about how our boards should have gotten more traffic either due to some additional links you had as part of the lower portion of each page.
I recall in my old board I had a section of code that had many words designed to pull up my board and these were placed on the global page. I remember we had trouble getting them to appear as invisible but admin finally got that to work! Is that something I should do again?
Just hoping for more traffic! Oh, and what are "reliant links" that you mentioned above? |

As Mr. Admin said above: It is not possible because the templates are not editable.
As for the reliant links: those are links posted on other sites to your board, i think. It makes it easier for the search bots to find your forum this way. |
