I have added a spam prevention mod to all the phpbb forums. It will prevent anyone with less than 10 posts from posting if the post contains a link. _________________ Please use the search function.

| Have you implemented that on this forum? If so won't that prevent people telling you the URL to their forum if they have problems? Usually that's the first thing you ask someone..... |

| Is there any chance of making the admin screen have a setting for configuring the number of posts required before allowing links to be posted? From my experience most automated spammers only post once for each username. The non-automated spammers I think would probably give up after a couple of tries too. 10 seems a bit high IMO. |

I've recently implemented this mod onto my forum (obviously not hosted here):
http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=464628
What's nice about it, is that it is configurable from the admin control panel, and you can specify a number of days that a user has to have been a member before they can post links, as well as how many posts they must have before they can posts links. It's too early to tell whether it will help my forum, but I'm getting sick to death of spam. I only get 1 or 2 per day, but it's the nature of the content (porn usually) that irritates me. |

Hi
I frequent one of forums on your site (whitedotboard),
and we are having a huge Spam problem.
Is this anti-spam mod still active?
Cuz, everyday new spam (with links!) are being posted.
Is there something our forum admin can do, or do we
just need to wait for an upgrade?
Thanks!

| I would also like to know if this mod is still in place. I doubt it since I have recently had members be able to post links in their very first post--and it was spam too. |
