I had files attached with various posts. Lately, the users have been reporting that all attached files with extensions .exe or .doc etc. are showing the file ASCII contents instead of downloading or opening the file. On the other hand .zip and .pdf files are ok but the file names are being changed to index.pdf or index.zip
What is happening? I hope I've not lost my attached files. Please help. |

Please tell me...
What are the types of files that are allowed to be attached with posts. Previously I uploaded .chm , .rar, .exe, .txt, .pdf, .zip etc. Now it seems that only .pdf and .zip files are being downloaded but they have lost their original name and downloaded as index.zip or index.pdf. But their contents are OK.
Other types of files are not being downloaded but opening as text files and displaying all sorts of ASCII characters.
Is there any setting to specify the type of file that can be attached?

Now I'm unable to upload or download even .zip files. Now I get the message -

While downloading an existing .zip file, I can download only a .htm page !
Admin please do something or at least respond !!! Your silence is quite frustrating
The board relates to our studies and members posted attachments over a long period of time. They'd kill me if the attachments are lost  |
