Hi guys my name is Jason and i have recently setup a forum call G Scale Mad Forum and can be found at http://www.myfreebulletinboard.com/f/index.php?mforum=gscalemadforum I have found the level of service you guys give is great and the forum is working very well. The problem i have is that if a topic has got the email notification enabled and then an email is then sent to the topic starter via their email account when they click on the link to view the new reply on the forum in the email they come up against a page not found error 404 and not the forum topic. Can you help with this please. Thanks in advance.

The link is most likely long enough that it is separated on two lines in the email so clicking on the link would not work. In that case they would have to copy the entire link and paste it into their browser location bar.
If that does not appear to be the problem you could forward the email to webmaster@myfreebulletinboard.com so I can see what is happening. |

Ok guys done a bit more sorting out on this problem and i think it tends to go wrong when its a post that i have started but not when i join in another post started by one of the other members. I hope this is of some help. I have sent you guys the email i recieve to see if that helps you clear this up.

Guys things seem to of settled down with the forum and the last few email replys have been fine. I don't thinks it's worth you guys wasting your time in chassing this one up any more for the time being as i guess you must have your hands full as it is. If it plays up again in the future i will let you know if thats ok.

No for some reason they have gone for a wobble again. It must be something i am doing but i will re-email you guys as soon as the next email reply comes through and it plays up.

Ok guys i have finally got it sorted and guess what is was me. The email notification only works when i am logged into the forum. Now i have this sorted i know why i do not always get through. Thanks for the help that was given but this is now case closed.
