Here's a little tip. If I go to my board from the myfreebulletinboard.com homepage link, it takes me there as an unregistered member (it uses mfipb as the board address) and I can click through to look at posts. However as soon as I log into the site as a member I can no longer click through and I get the message above posted by JFW.
Hope this helps tracking down the problem. |

Well, I am in the USA and it is now Monday morning and I still have the same trouble with my baords. How can you say it is fixed if we still can not post or view?
I get the following error message when I try to view a forum:
| Quote: | mySQL query error: SELECT DISTINCT(yourcoupons_posts.author_id), yourcoupons_topics.* FROM yourcoupons_topics
LEFT JOIN yourcoupons_posts ON
(yourcoupons_topics.tid=yourcoupons_posts.topic_id AND yourcoupons_posts.author_id=1)
WHERE yourcoupons_topics.forum_id=11
and yourcoupons_topics.approved=1
and (yourcoupons_topics.pinned=1 or yourcoupons_topics.last_post > 0) ORDER BY pinned DESC, last_post DESC LIMIT 0,60
mySQL error: Table 'yourcoupons_posts' is marked as crashed and should be repaired
mySQL error code:
Date: Monday 14th of January 2008 09:37:04 AM |
As was mentioned above, and pointed out by one of my members too, they are not able to post nor view a forum when logged in. All that works is the active users online list and I can access the ACP. Not sure about calendar. search etc.
However, when they log out they are able to view forums and threads. Of course, they are not able to post since I do not allow guests to do so. Therefore, my board has been pretty much useless as far as new (and in my case, time sensitive) posts and info.
When can I (we) expect this problem to be fixed? What was the cause of this recent outage? And, I still feel there should be a method (email) to contact the admin here when this happens.
I understand he says he was away. However, when not away we have had the same issuses. No way to notify of a problem. I used admin@ and webmaster@ email addresses and they were both returned as "user is over quota."
And finally, since I am in a complaining mood, what is the purpose of the error message saying
| Quote: | There appears to be an error with the YourCoupons database.
You can try to refresh the page by clicking here, if this does not fix the error, you can contact the board administrator by clicking here |
...with a link that emails ME about the problem when I have no control at fixing it!! I think this link should be changed for the mfbb admin to be notified -not us admins that can't fix anything.
HELP!!
My forum is now working fine as of 1/14/08 5:25 pm ET.

My list of what works, and what doesn't:
SEARCH link-works until you submit a search request. It then gives the same error messages as above, perhaps slightly different in text. Might be since what is being searched is no longer there?
PRIVATE MESSAGE link-seems to work up to the point of sending a PM, I have not tried PMing someone. I can also see my old messages.
MY ASSISTANT link: gives this error...
| Quote: | mySQL query error: SELECT COUNT(pid) as posts FROM yourcoupons_posts WHERE post_date > '1200164145' AND queued <> 1 AND forum_id IN(0,2,3,9,11,12,13,14,16,17,1
mySQL error: Table 'yourcoupons_posts' is marked as crashed and should be repaired
mySQL error code:
Date: Monday 14th of January 2008 09:52:29 AM |
MEMBERS link-works and I can view the list. However, when I click on a member I get the same error type message.
MOD CP link-I never use it but it gives the error message too. |

I just logged out. I was able to click and view the forums. There is a post (most recent) whose link appears now but does not appear when I am logged in. When I click to view ANY thread/post, I receive the standard error message we are now familiar with.
I suppose the QUICK FIX would be to access one's ACP and ALLOW Guest posting if you need to have whatever members remaining be able to communicate and post on your board.

JFW, I hope you were not referring to my "quick fix" idea because, as it turns out, even THAT won't work! I tried allowing Guest Posting. After you have entered your entire text, the same error messages appear.
Mr. admin, what is going on with our boards?? Is anyone able to help us????

Talksport and confused, your forums should be good now let me know if not.
All others post the exact error message so I can fix.
Confused please stop posting in every problem thread makes it harder for me to figure out where the errors still are. _________________ Please use the search function. |

Mr. admin, if it helps, I added
My forum is now working fine as of 1/14/08 5:25 pm ET. to my recent posts.
Thank you for fixing my (our) boards. Since this thread is in the GD forum, I would like to ask agai nif thereis a method (email) that we admins can use when things like this happen. I posted (and believe others agree) that you can not be monitoring the entire mfbb site/forums to notice when an outage occurs. And, if our forums are down then so are these support forums, correct? Therefore, that leaves us without a way to meake the trouble known. I suggested another email addy be created that would come into whatever email system you use in order to notify you.
The addys "admin@" and webmaster@" mfbb.... were all returned to me as user over quota. This problem has happened before where we were left without a means of contact. I asked if Blackpanther could help us but it appears that thread was deleted. Is there more than one person we could notify in the event of a board-wide problem?
Thanks again for fixing this and for listening to my suggestion.
Oh, and are signatures here disabled? I added one, see it in my profile edit page, but do not see it in my threads. _________________

Admin: Now that you have had the chance to investigate, can you please answer the questions I posed earlier in this thread, namely…
Would you care to comment on this state of affairs? How do you square this with the claims on your home page about reliability and speed? How can I attract new users while this is going on?
What can I tell my members about how this sort of disaster will be avoided in future? |

Admin,
I understand that this backup has now been paid for and run but that it has not yet been delivered to us.
I would be grateful if you could arrange to provide it to us today. If you are unable to deliver it today, we will want the backup run again so that it is up to date. I think it is reasonable to expect swift delivery following the backup operation for what I think are obvious reasons.
Thanks. |
