The forum is corrupted! And all I did was just deleting the jpg of a Christmas tree/New Year banner from the description box of The Man forum.
Error message:
THE MAN
Code corrupted. Insert fresh copy.
The forum (General Discussions) below that category (The Man) has disappeared.
The total number of posts remain the same.
Seems that General Discussions forum is now superimposed on The Man forum.
The links show that all the posts for the disappeared forum are still intact, but they don't show up properly. The total number of topics and replies now shown on The Man forum are actually that for the General Discussions forum.
Link for General Discussions forum (Missing now/Doesn't show up in the index)
http://www.mfbb.net//steph/viewforum.php?f=11&mforum=steph
If you use the Jump to: Select a forum at the bottom right of the page (you can still see the missing forum listed there), it's still accessible!
Please amend the code and fix the problem immediately.
Thanks.

Your problem is broken html in the description box. To correct delete everything in the description box.
Once you verify that it is working, you can re-enter whatever you need to. _________________ Please use the search function. |

Tried what you said. It doesn't work. Now, the description box for General Discussions is gone after I cleared everything in the description box and then update.
When I clicked edit The Man forum, what showed up was the description box for the forum below it, not the one for The Man. Before this, it brought up General Discussions which happened to be the next forum after it. Now that it's gone, it brought up the description box of The Latest Happenings.
The description box for The Man couldn't be found anymore since the code error message appeared! And all I did was just to delete the jpg/gif of the Season's greetings from the description box and then clicked update! Not that I haven't made changes to the box before. No problem all along until this morning. Why it affected the forum below as well is beyond me!
Try it yourself and you'll see what I mean. And how to make the General Discussions forum show up in the index again???
Please help me salvage these 2 forums. As far as I can see, all the posts are intact. Just that they don't show up properly anymore.
Or is it possible to revert my board to the 1st January 2008 supposing there are no other solutions?
Thanks for the prompt reply. Hope you can rectify the error. |

The problem is getting worse. Can't touch any description box because the respective forum will disappear from sight even without clicking update. Another forum gone.
Kindly revert to 1st January, 2008 for me please... |

Mr. Admin, can you please respond? It's urgent.
BTW, is it possible to move the whole thread instead of post by post and can we have the mod for merging posts too? |

No, Mr Admin. Things are still not right. You must have clicked on the pics that are linked to the missing urls (that's why they seem okay).
What I am doing now as a stop-gap measure is to create 2 new forums (named Latest Happenings & Discuss) and then make a post with their respective links there. Clicking those links will bring visitors to the 'missing' forums. They are not the original forums. I don't know how to recover them. Those two have disappeared and as you can see The Man forum still has the error message and was the cause of the problem in the first place. If you click the names of Latest Happenings/Discuss instead of the pictures (which are linked to the missing urls - that's why they look alright), you'll see what I mean.
Please revert my board to the first day of 2008. Would really appreciate that. I have been here for more than 2 years and this is the first time an issue has cropped up that needs your assistance to resolve.
Hope you would oblige my request. I trust you will do something for me.
Thanks. |

Help me out Mr Admin. You are the only one who can make my board normal again.
How to manage a board whereby one can't touch the description box anymore for fear of losing the respective forum? I believe you have the means to do so although I understand that would involve extra effort on your part.
You'll see the Merry Christmas & Happy New Year banner there together with a Merry Christmas gif in The Man forum when the board is in its normal state as at January, 1.
Kindly revert the board to 1 January 2008 today. Please, please, please... |

I wouldn't bother you if things were as before the code corruption happened. All along, except for an odd question or two, do you see me pestering you? I was quite happy with your service until this had to happen.
The way I look at the situation, you could either
Solution 1: help make The Man forum normal again (now its' description box can't be called up anymore! When you click edit The Man forum, the box for the next forum appears!) and recover the 2 lost forums (Latest Happenings & General Discussions). The present Latest Happenings & Discuss forums are newly created so as to provide a link to the missing forums. They are NOT the original ones. Since the posts involved (they can't be shown since the respective forums have vanished) are hanging somewhere in cyberspace and the links could be obtained through the Jump to: drop down menu, I made 2 posts with the missing links to the missing forums and put them in the 2 newly created forums (namely Latest Happenings & Discuss). Click the NAME of the forums and not the pics (which are linked to the missing forums) and you may see the situation. Look at the number of topics/posts in the newly created forums - only 1 to 2 posts shown in the index when actually there are far more than that. Click the latest post for The Man will bring you to the latest post for Latest Happenings! The number of topics/posts shown for The Man are actually the sum total of posts in The Man, General Discussions and the Latest Happenings. In future, the description boxes of the old forums grouped under "Categories" can't be edited for fear of losing more forums. It always affects the next one below it and cause it to disappear! To cut a long story short, they are all messed up! A real headache. If you don't fix the problem for me, what am I to do?
Or
Solution 2: revert the board to 1st January 2008 when the board was normal.
Before corruption, just a change of theme. (2nd January):
_______________________________________________________
Board as at 1st January, 2008 (PERFECTLY NORMAL) Please revert to this, thanks.
Please revert board to this image. Any assistance rendered will be much appreciated. |

I fixed it the way I told you to do in my first post. I went to admin > Forum Admin > Management. And removed everything from "The Man" forum description.
The code below is what is corrupted. I cannot be responsible for Stat Counters Code.
| Code: | <a href=http://www.mfbb.net/steph/viewforum.php?f=11&mforum=steph>
