Whenever I log onto the forum I administer, I am immediately followed by a "Googlebot" who logs on as a "Guest."
The automated web-searcher seems to be linked to my visits to the forum - shadowing my every move.
Any idea why this is happening? And, if so, is there a way to put a stop to it? |

| Hmm...that's odd. But GoogleBot doesn't hurt your forum it just indexes the pages to be found in the yahoo search. I don't think you can get rid of it. |

Just kidding, it is for the google ads. There is no way for you to stop it and there is no reson to worry.

Thanks. I wasn't really worried about it (well, maybe a little), but I was curious. It didn't dawn on me that the Google-placed Ads themselves would be generating the Googlebot visits - makes sense.
I'll dial back my paranoia a bit.
